9:58 Fox NEVER owned the rights to X-Men or FF, they ONLY had movie rights. Marvel always could do literally everything else with these characters: comics, cartoons, games, action figures, stickers, cereal, underwear and Fox wouldn't be able to stop them. It was all about the MCU. Can't put them in a movie? Devalue the living hell out of our own IP, so we can get the movie rights back drit cheap.

I wouldn't be playing Street Fighter 6 today if the Naruto Ninja Storm games didn't pull me into fighting games and push me towards finding something deeper years ago

3D anime fighters are nothing short of garbage imo. terrible balance, terrible animations, horrible movement, garbage graphics with gameplay that serves NOTHING more than fanservice. just garbage. play an actual fighting game. they arent even good party games. trash.

Fighting game devs want to drain arcade goers of their quarters, even if the game in question isn't released for arcades.

A major problem I have with fighting game tutorials is that none of them tell you about precise timing. Sure, part of that is due to input delay caused by HD televisions, but if rhythm games are able to get around it, so can fighting games. Besides, if someone is unable to complete a tutorial due to factors outside of their control, then maybe it's the game's fault and not the player's. And before anyone asks "What are you, a game journalist?", let's use that Cuphead example. The game makes it very clear that to reach the top of the platform, you need to use your Dash at the height of your jump. Meanwhile, fighting game tutorials involve a lot of guess work. How long am I supposed to stand still to perform an Electric God Fist? Am I supposed to press the button before or after an animation plays to continue a combo?

Stuff like Kamen Rider Climax Heroes or Castlevania Judgement might be simple, but they at least *_pretend_* to be fighting games. Hell, I was able to enjoy that Saint Seiya fighter on PS3 despite knowing very little about Saint Seiya!

There is a logic to the Ultimate select screen it's the order in which they appeared in the series, it's a celebration of the long history it has so if your a long time fan of the series you'll know where each charachter is and why. This is also something Nintendo did'nt hide so you should not have been suprised that they did it that way.

Bro, don't accumulate ARMS (and also jojo battle r, witch isn't even an arena, but a 3D fighter) with this shitty sub genere. I know that including them in the editing of the video doesn't necessarily means that you see those game as equals as the others that you show and it (arms) they can look similiar at others arena fighting game. But it's enough well conceived that works as a stand alone sub genere 😭

I never really was a fan of the guest choices that made it into Soulcalibur II: Spawn -> He belongs in M-rated games, not T-rated ones. Link -> Soulcalibur III (a Wii port) would be a better game for him, because players have the option to choose between the Twilight Princess costume and the Ocarina of Time costume. Heihachi-> Would be better for an arcade port of Soulcalibur II, a PlayStation 2 guest that would be more fitting is Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII.

no, ai has nothing to do with it. its bullshit like superarmor preventing staggering, immunity to some attacks, like throws, sometimes insanely more movement options than you and then, of course, the fact that they only need like 3 attacks to get you below half health and a ranged one hit ko move for good measure. it just sucks. they usually make the ai imperfect and thats all thats required for semi fair gameplay outside of it being done so badly you can somehow cheese it with the same two inputs or something. but when its imperfect but on average, only needs to hit 5 times compared to the 15 times you or a normal cpu needs to hit to win, it becomes luck, or cheese

Soulcalibur to this day does not get the credit it deserves. It belongs with the big boys of Fighting games; Big Brother Tekken, Street Fighter and (The Obnoxiously overrated & comparatively inferior) Mortal Kombat

I find it hilarious that final slam has more content than a $60 fighting game. You might as well just spend your money on food or clothes.

Why is it that hardly anyone on RUclips is talking about this subject!?! If you added up all the "real" tournament level fighting games vs how many of these anime fighters are released, there are more of these tie-in games in the wild than regular fighting games! Even during the "dark ages" of fighting games in the early 2000s, these games kept coming out and hardly anyone these days are talking about them (let alone playing them); either to reassess them, to discover the meta, none of that! I mean, sure, most of the time, they are games made quickly to cash in on a franchise, but - if you look at the history - companies like dimps and eighting made these 3d anime fighting games when capcom wasn't And these companies help make some of the biggest games in the genre! I know most of them are bad, but there has to be SOME hidden gems in that pile of licensed shovelware, and more people like stumblebee need to step up to the plate
